Barcelona Vintage Vibe

El Raval, the gritty, urban and up and coming area of the Barcelona's old town was only a few years ago, an area avoided by tourists for its bad reputation. It is now however completely reformed and is deemed one of the cities trendiest and most fashionable areas. Its home to some of the cities coolest bars and eateries and is now a much revered hang-out spot for fashionistas looking foir the latest vintage find.

It is has also become recognized as a unique shopping area for its fantastic range of vintage shops. If you are a die-hard vintage shopper you'll be in seventh heaven making your way around the labyrinth of twisting cobbled streets, full to the rafters with vintage clothes, furniture, jewelry, accessories and furniture.

In this maze of twisting and turning streets it can be hard to navigate and to know where to start, so why not begin your vintage voyage on Carrer de Riera Baixa. This street has shop after shop of vintage delights including these little beauties:

This is not just a shop it is a vintage institution. Its' ranges transcend the entire last century and it seems to stock just about everything. With its quirky and colourful décor this is more like a museum of eras gone by than a shop, but rest-assured they leave little purchasing potential behind in this all-encompassing vintage gem.

La Vella Maia

Is all about accessories; retro bags and belts, and specialising in dresses from the 70's and 80's. Dig deep uncover a vintage suprise.

Everything from designer to bargain from the 50's right through to the 80's, from casual summer attire to Chanel suits. Check out their amazing bargain box, well worth a rummage for some insanely cheap finds.

De Faralaee

Home to girly chic and feminine dresses. They have a bargain rail, with prices starting as low as €5, which is brimming with interesting items. Make sure you don't leave without checking out the back room which has a great collection of leather goods and men’s clothes.

Calle Tallers is also a major contender in the best vintage street in the Raval district, and the following are some of our favourites:

Flamingos Vintage Kilo

Does exactly what it says on the tin… Sells clothes by the kilo. They cleverly decorate the store with carefully assembled outfits, alongside the 'total look' price where you can take inspiration.  Use this to as you rummage around the shop and then pick 'n' mix your outfits.

Holala Ibiza

This is by far one of the most popular vintage shops in the whole of Barcelona, if not for their knowledge of all things vintage, then for their A-list hand picked selection of everything from furniture, accessories, magazine, books, video games and much more. There is such a buzz to this place and the owners have created a truly original shopping experience. If you only have time for one shop, make sure it's this one.  Top tip: They also have a huge shop on neighbouring Calle Valldonzella, also well worth a visit, and if you are ever in Ibiza and have a vintage emergency, check our their shop there too.

Wilde Vintage

A fantastic little find for an eclectic mix of sunglasses. The owner is so passionate about her stock she will give you details about each piece from Christian Dior to more obscure Japanese brands.

On our private city tours, vintage shopping is certainly a theme that never goes out of style!
