Team Building Activities
Barcelona is an excellent location for a team building activity or weekend. Team work is vital in any business; whether you’re just one office or a whole building coming together, a fun, engaging activity is beneficial for all. If your team can’t work together, then it’s not really a team! It can also help build personal confidence too, with people discovering skills they didn’t know they had.
Team building for some still has a bad reputation; you hear those two words and images of sitting in a circle playing “two truths and a lie” and doing “trust falls” spring to mind. Don’t worry, if you book with Barcelonatours.net we will guarantee everybody has a great time. Motivation and morale will be at an all-time high after people take part in these activities, and your group will be stronger for having learned more about their co-workers and be ready to take on their next big professional project.
Keeping a big group entertained can be tiring, and trying to organise your own teambuilding on top of that will double your workload – keep everyone excited and organised with these daytime activities.
One Bridge for All
Some of the best team building activities are inspired by things you may have done as a child. One Bridge for All tests your problem solving skills, your communication capabilities and your literal ability to build something as a team. You’ll be split into smaller teams and given a limited budget, limited resources and time constraints. The group will then have to build a free-standing bridge from Point A to Point B strong enough for a car to cross…a remote control car of course!
A Barcelonatours.net original! This activity combines solving clues, friendly competition and sightseeing in Barcelona’s old town. While exploring the Gothic Quarter with your team and armed with a booklet and Polaroid camera, you will answer questions, collect items and, of course, take photos of the area and your team. Points are awarded and we bring everyone together at the end for a drink and prize giving - your group will love trying to snap their way to victory.
Forget overly formal and structured “ice breaker”; the best ice breaker is to have a good laugh and Bubble Football will certainly provide that. With team members encase from the hips up in a giant, inflatable bubble, you can bump each other around the field and see who the best bubble Messi in the team is. Whether you love or loathe football, this is an activity that everyone will blow up over.
Learn the secrets and steps behind this passionate, Spanish dance. The boys have no excuse to not join in as some of the most famous flamenco dancers in the world are men! Get ready to stamp your feet and shout “olé!” as our experienced teacher takes you from shy stepper to a fiery flamenco dancer in just one hour – there’s also a glass of cava each to loosen up those limbs.
Ham & Cheese Challenge
Combine team building with tapas in this tasty challenge. Spain is famous for cheese and ham (fun fact: Catalonia has more than 150 different types of cheese!) and this activity will involve eating some different types and then answering questions about them. The most delicious team building you’ll ever do!
See Barcelona from 3 new perspectives – by eBike, by boat and by air (well, by cable car to be precise!). There’s something for everyone in this activity and offers an important opportunity to wind down and chat. The eBike helps you glide along on two wheels, with no need to exert yourself; the boat & cable car are pure relaxation. There are few places more peaceful in the city than the waves of the Mediterranean Sea, while a ride in the cable car comes with quiet, unparalleled views.
After a day of team building, your group will need time to relax and unwind, and get to know each other on a more personal level. And if your team already know each other, then these are just great activities to share together.
Awesome to combine with a flamenco lesson or just as an evening of Spanish entertainment, we have a variety of flamenco and dining options. With both 3 course and tapas menus available, these spectacular shows will be a great place to kick back while still engaging in Spanish culture.
Forget boring coaches and taxis and help transport your team in style. The Party Bus, which is kitted out with music, lights and drinks, will give your group a one hour tour of the city highlights; you can also jump out for photos in some iconic Barcelona locations (ask us for advice when you get in touch!). Be picked up and dropped off at a central location – and with space for up to 65 people in one bus, everyone will be able to enjoy it together.
Jump out the bus and into the night club! VIP tables are a great idea for a group as it provides a base for the evening; whether you’re the wannabe Beyoncé and always on the dance floor or prefer to sit in the corner quietly with a gin & tonic, the VIP tables will make it easy to find each other. Best of all we book these tables free of charge and you can order the bottles of spirits or champagne that you want when you get there. A perfect end to a perfect team building weekend – cheers!
