Montserrat is a uniquely shaped mountain, Natural Park, and reaches over 4000 feet high, visible for miles, with an odd formation of rounded peaks that jut into the sky; there are paths, stairs, caves, chapels and hermitages scattered throughout the mountain, in addition to the extraordinary landscapes and wonderful views.
The drive alone is picturesque as you pass along the Llobregat River to the foot of the spectacular Montserrat mountain (its name means serrated, in reference to its jutting peaks), a natural park, and then up to the Sanctuary 725m (2380 feet) above sea level. Your guide will entertain you with tales of the history and legends of the mountain, the monastery and the shrine. The return journey will be an alternative route accompanied by recordings of a variety of traditional Catalan music.
On arrival to Montserrat your guide will give a tour to orient you to the main places of interest: the monastery, the basilica, a museum with a marvelous collection of paintings, Stations of the Cross, as well as bars, restaurants, shops and a home products market.
Next is the visit to the Montserrat Basilica. Silence must be maintained inside the church, therefore your guide will give you explanations outside and show you Our Lady' Chapel with the 12th Century figure of Our Lady of Montserrat
Tour members will have free time to dedicate to the aspects that attract them most in this beautiful and spiritual place

Both great thank you very much. We had about 6 people bail on the bike ride but it was actually very enjoyable, especially the first half which involved a lot of sites.
The flamenco night was fantastic – the venue was lovely and I really wish I had booked the morning for the bike ride so that we could have gone into the village as it was stunning. The food was nice as was the wine and the dancers were incredible. I’d definitely recommend a visit.
Again thank you so much for organising at such short notice.
